Illustrated Faith Power Filled Prayer Workshop

Hello, welcome back to my blog. I recently completed the Illustrated faith Power-Filled Prayers online workshop written by Tonya Hamilton (aka: messybible on instagram). For me this class could not have come at a better time. Recently the Lord has put prayer heavily on my mind and while I always prayed, I wanted to become more organized and intentional with prayer.

Part of my journey before power-filled prayers was my best friend Christine saying hey let's go to this workshop by the reset girl. We went to her faithful girl planner workshop, and it really inspired me to better organize my prayer life. I like tactile things, and I love writing things down and referring back to things. For prayers, this also helps me to look back, days, weeks, months and maybe in the future years and see God's faithfulness and answered prayers in my life. It has lead to a more intentional and  focused daily prayer time that I am loving. I can do another blog post on my prayer binder later as I am still figuring out my style within what I have learned so far.

Back to power-filled prayers, Ms. Tonya's sweet voice takes us through praying for yourself, your family, your community and the world. How to pray scripture and really focus on certain people. This  was also inspiring to me, and since I knew the power this would have on my prayer life, I knew I wanted to include the prompts from the class in my prayer binder. I also took some of the prompts and created entries in my bible journal.

Currently I am using the A5 platinum Carpe Diem Planner. This is my first A5 ring bound planner, and I was not sure I would like it. But i do like it, I love that I can add pages and insert pages any where I would like and if I change my mind or as my style and  needs change I can adapt easily. I love it so much I did end up ordering a custom order planner from the planner society, and it should arrive at the end of January that I plan to make my prayer binder. I do have other plans for this planner once my new one arrives that I will show later.

Taking the reset girl's class we learned to create our own dividers and we learned about her printables for prayer that I am thoroughly enjoying during my prayer time.

I knew I wanted to add a section titled power-filled prayers that I placed each week of the online class in.

I printed each week to fit my A5 size planner. To add a little more interest to the page I added a die cut border using the avery elle postage stamp die. I also have loved using this die in my bible journal too. It comes with 4 sizes but you can also snip and trim to fit the size you need.
On the back of each week I typed out the additional verses and added them to the back, so that when I am praying for each person I have quick bible verse references I can pray the scriptures. I intentionally left a lot of white space so that over the months, years to come I add jot down notes, date and who I prayed for during each season.
I also included the bonus Psalm mad-lib Ms. Tonya provided to keep in as a reminder too and again I left lots of white space to add to later.
The post it flag you see on the bottom right marks my place for which page I am focusing on for the week. Example: this week here I was praying for the world for this entire week. At the beginning of the next week I will move it back to the beginning: praying for myself and continue to weekly pray for someone each week. You could also move it daily, whichever works for you.

The below 3 photo's are entries I did while working through the workshop in my bible journal. Hope your enjoyed this entry. I would love to hear your thoughts or what your prayer process is in the comments below :) God Bless

Gratitude Documented Mini Book

Hello!

So glad you made it over to my blog. Since I had several questions on how I made these envelope book I thought I would give you a picture tutorial here.

I love the Illustrated Faith community, the ladies and everyone involved are so sweet. I never would have imagined I would have made so many new friends on this journey that share the love of God that I do.

I loved the girl on the harvest printable from the Illustrated Faith print and pray shop. I thought she looked like me. Check out my instagram (m78foster) for a photo where I tried to look like her with my gratitude documented album.

This album has a lot of pockets that you can slip tags, notes or anything you want to keep into. In my book for this project I am using a lot of tags, that I will decorate as the month progresses.

The inside cover turned out cute. I used the reverse confetti acorn die and stamp set.

I also added all the cards from the Illustrated Faith gratitude kit.

For this project I used 6x9 envelopes, for the smaller tip in's you will see down below you can use the small "coin" envelopes if you want even more pockets to fill. For my album I used 5 envelopes.
Take the envelope and fold over the flab and measure 6" and score

Then cut a sliver of the end of the envelope off. This will create the pockets when the book is put together.

Then cut the flap with the seal on it off. Not off all the way just the gummed section, leaving a small section of the flap. (this will be where you can put a tip in or the smaller coin envelope if you choose"
Add adhesive to the sliver of flap left and add the tip in.

Once added it will make a "z" fold, shape.

Next, either pop the clasp off or cut it out. These envelopes will be covered with paper so its ok :)
The hole will be covered with paper.

Once you cut all the envelopes you want, you can bind them a number of ways. What I did was use my Illustrated Faith packaging from the kit and used my cinch machine to punch the holes. Instead of using a spiral clasp i just threaded twine through. It is important to note that if you choose this binding method and want deeper pockets you will need to do what I did to the spines. I cut a slip of paper 1/2" x 6" and added to the right of the paper and all the envelopes. This way the machine punched through the added paper and not the envelopes.
The maroon is the slip of paper I cut and adhered half of it to the envelope to create my spine.
If you want the pocket to fit 2 tags like I did, you can take a strip of adhesive and add to the middle. This created 2 pockets to slide my tags into.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed day.

My bible journal-illustrated faith

It's been a long time since I last blogged. Life has just been super busy with LOTS of changes some very difficult times especially this past year. A blog post perhaps for another time. What I wanted to share that has inspired me and motivated me this past week is my Journal Bible, and through this process it has  made me have the energy and  motivation again to start blogging again.

Last May I had a life changing event happen and I would say in June is when I really started reading my Bible daily every morning and faithfully going back to Church every week. I was saved when I was 16 but through a relationship I kind of lost who I was and me going to church or reading my bible brought negatively from him. Anyways, after this relationship I made a promise to myself and God that would never happen again, I would be who I was and never let a person define me again or stop me from reading my bible or talking about God. In July my best friend Christine and I purchased Erin Condren Planners and what a blessing that planner has been. The daily weeks columns I do not schedule my day but use it to write quotes  that inspire me, verses that speak to me, and quotes from my morning devotionals. (Like a prayer journal/planner all in one). When I am down or just need inpsiration I look back through my planner, I carry it almost everywhere I go now. I LOVE IT!

A couple weeks ago my best friend a I went to a small scrapbook store near my house and she was so excited when she saw on their calendar of upcoming classes that the wonderful Shanna Noel was going to be coming and teaching a class on bible journaling! Click on the link to her bible journal and her blog, it's fantastic!   I was like what?! what is Bible Journaling AKA Illustrated faith and she pulled out her phone and showed me all about it on pinterest and I was HOOKED! That night at home I read every blogpost Shanna had ever written.. Yes I was that excited!  So we signed up for her class.

I quickly went online and after much research and decision making I purchased a journal bible. I chose the ESV double columm version. Take a good look at my "naked" bible cover as it may not be  this way for long. I am currently on the difficult pursuit of finding the perfect sticky back fabric paper to cover with it as I have the perfect idea in my head for my cover if I can find the right materials. I thought about using E6000 glue because I havent found the design Ilove that comes in sticky back, but I am not sure that will work. I am still deciding.

This past Saturday I took Shanna's Class-Illustrated Faith  she is the most sweetest person you could ever meet. The class I knew it would be good but it surpased my expectations. I got so much out of this class and got to meet others who share this passion. She let us use her illustrated faith stamp for our Bible Journals (AWESOME) and she even let us HOLD and LOOK at her bible journal and seeing it in person is very inspiring, just getting to hold her book you can feel the love she has for God and for this journal as it truly reflects her heart and journey. It was very hard for  her to let it out of her site and I don't blame her ONE BIT!

The picture below is my first ever bible journaling page, that I made in class. I have to admit it turned out better than I thought. It is over Colossians 3:10. We listened to a short 15 minute sermon in class and based off that sermon made me think how it related to my life and what spoke to me was "He understands my hurts". This past year was challenging and diffult but I know God understands and has a plan for me and trusting in him my life and this current year has blown me away with lots of opportunities God has given me and people he has brought into my life.

Its important to me to date my pages so I know when I made the entry and it will help me reflect on how far I have come or what I may have been going through or dealing with on that date. At first I was concerned it was a little bare but someone in class made the comment that they left room in case they come back later -days,months, years and something else speaks to them they have room to put it in and I loved that idea! So while this page may be sort of bare I love it! and it leaves more opportunity and room  for further thoughts.

I had decorated the outside spine a few days before class because I knew what I wanted, I wanted to put hot coffee and hot tea because every morning when I do my devotional I am always having hot tea or coffee. I even journaled about it on the inside cover.

While I am still learning I thought I would share some of the items I used on my pages. I stamped my images and letters with Staz on ink (it doesnt bleed through but you can see some of it through the page, but I am ok with that). They also recommended momento luxe inks which work great and come in tons of colors. The black swirls I used are actually rub-ons and those are awesome you cant see those through the page at all.

The le pen set I bought at hobby lobby also work great and do not bleed. The small alphabet set I got at Michaels for $1.50 and they have about 8 different fonts. I love those!

I plan on starting an illustrated faith blog post series here on my blog so stay tuned. You can also follow me on instagram at m78lejeune.

The Greeting Farm Cyber-Monday Celebration Hop

Hello!

I am so glad you made the hop over to my blog!! and you made it just in time for the holiday season. I love to create and I love to scrapbook. The Greeting Farm Stamps by FAR are my ALL-TIME favorite stamps to use and I have quite the collection.

When I saw this hop come along I just knew I wanted to particpate. Even though I have been especially busy as of late I knew I wanted to take some time to create something.

For my project I decided to make a Christmas ornament celebrating my love for The Greeting Farm to put on my tree this year.

On the front of my ornament I used Alice Bean all dressed up in her fanciest and most sparkliest Christmas outfit while posing next to her Christmas Tree (by the paper studio). I also used a pink prima flower that perfectly fits with Alice's pretty pink tree.

On the back of the ornament I again used a white prima flower, and the greeting farm made with love stamp from the club anya stamp set  stamped on a ticket I cut out using Tim Holtz's ticket die.

Alice looks adorable on her new pink and white tree. (I just put this tree up today and realized half the lights are burned out, so ignore that. LOL off to get more lights tomorrow.)

Thank you for taking the time to view my blog. Hope you will visit again as I plan on posting more holiday posts this year.

Happy Holidays,

Marie

TGF snowflake challenge

I had a lot of fun making this fun winter card for the farm fresh Friday challenge over on the greeting farm. The challenge this week was to make something with a snowflake or snowflakes.

I used my new exclusive edition cocoa Ian stamp and then I swapped parts to make beanie Anya drinking cocoa too. I think they both turned out adorable!

I found a snowflake pattern paper in my Christmas stash and dazzled it up some by using icicle stickles to make them sparkle and shine b
The quote stamp is also from the greeting farm.
